    Place the following M code in a blank query to see the steps.

    let
        StringA = "A;B;C;D",
        StringB = "1;2;3;4",
        listA = Text.Split(StringA, ";"),
        listB = Text.Split(StringB, ";"),
        res = Text.Combine(List.Transform(List.Zip({listA, listB}), each Text.Combine(_,"-")),";")
    in
        res
