Is it just me, or does everyone's Excel freeze when you are unlucky enough to click the settings wheel at the ExpandTableColumns step while the query is refreshing? I've finally had enough of losing my work because I had to End Task. Please fix this!!!

@Anonymous That's because you aren't working on them big old complex queries! But yeah, any query that's moderately memory intensive, refresh it in the power query view, and then click on that gear. You'll have to use Task Manager close Excel; it will never respond. This has been happening with at least the last two years' versions of power query in Excel. I'll be clicking through the steps (as one tends to do), and hit the gear and then realize what I've done, and that I've now lost everything.

I have encountered this before, the probability is very low, about once or twice a month. But it is really annoying, I can only force close Excel, and only once did it recover after waiting for a minute or two. However, this situation seems to be caused by directly clicking the gear icon. Later, I clicked the expand step item first, and then clicked the gear icon, and I haven't encountered it for two or three months.
Hi @Anonymous ,
Do you mean that when you refresh the query, click the following button and your Excel will freeze?
But after my test, I did not have the same problem. The following is my test version:
What is your Excel version please?
Best Regards,
Dino Tao
