Can we Link Excel Spread sheet and SSAS Tabular Model in POWER BI Web App?

Hi Guys,

I am new to power BI and exploring thing here. I got a question from Finance team and asking that can we link (Establish relationship) Excel file and SSAS Tablur Model on Power BI App.

Lets consider, I have a tabluar Model which contains 1 Fact and multiple dimensions and one the dimensions is Date Dimension.

Also I got a excel file which contains some transactional data and a date column. As this data comes from External source and we don't have in our data warehouse and to be frank, we don't want to bring to data warehouse because we need to write a SSIS package to bring data from Excel to Staging and then to Data Warehouse and then feed it to SSAS Tabular Model. 

Instead, looking to upload Excel File data directly to Power BI web APP and then If possible can link this to exsiting SSAS Tabular Model. So basically Date dimension from Tabular should linked to Excel Date so that Filters applied on Date dimension should also filter data from Excel  file. 

Please suggest.
