I have established a connection to Google Analytics data using Power BI dataflows. Within one dataflow, I have successfully set up two tables that query data from Google Analytics and refresh without any issues.
However, when I created a new table within the same dataflow, it started causing refresh failures. This new table is pulling Date, Transaction ID, Source-medium, and Unique purchases from google analytics.
I suspect that there may be a size limit associated with pulling data from the Google Analytics API through Power BI dataflows, but not 100% sure.
I would appreciate any insights or information regarding size limitations when retrieving data from the Google Analytics API using Power BI dataflows.
Hi @rohamp247 I think you can connect your GA data without the need of a dataflow. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party tool. I've tried windsor.ai, supemetrics (which doesn't have PBI as a destination, so you first have to export to Google Sheets and then export to PBI) and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the GA4 connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your GA4 account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your G4 fields:
There just select the fields you need. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
Hi @rohamp247 ,
Are there any error messages? Please first check the quota usage of the data source.
