There have been a few major bottlenecks with using power query at my organization. One of them is the inability to read error logs from old excel workbooks, oracle databases.
In other words, is there a way to get power query or power BI to do:
Often time I find myself having to us other tools such as SQL, python, R, and more do so what should be a simple operation.
Has there been any progress on this front for allow users to read error logs in Power Query or Power BI?
Related as this is what the query normally does:

Hi @Anonymous
Based on my research, I haven't found a way to ignore all errors until the final step. For cell-level errors, sometimes the steps after them can be applied because these errors only happen on some cells not on the whole column. But for step-level error, it is difficult.
You can use try ... otherwise ... syntax to deal with errors, however this will not record the error messages.

I found two blogs about error handling. Not sure if they would be helpful.
