Hello everyone, I hope you guys could help me.
Im working on Power BI Desktop, I connect to a SQL instance and data loads into Power Query, everything looks fine.
When I try to save the query got the following message:
Hi @Anonymous ,
A little confused about your scenario.
Do you connect to remote SQL Server from Power BI Desktop? And is the firewall turned on in the server that installing SQL Server?
If so, please check that if you have added the TCP port and UDP port(1434) in the inbound rule of the Windows Firewall, and you can verify TCP port in SQL Server Configuration Manager.
For more details about configuring remote access for SQL Server, please review the following blog.

Hello,
Firewall is turned on, my IP is added in it.
I still have the same issue =/
Any other way to fix it?
Appreciate your help.
Best regards.
Hey, thank you for the reply.
And yes, Im trying to connect Power BI Desktop to a SQL database thru VPN.
I will check if the Firewall set to on, if so, I will ask my IP Address to be added on Server and let you know.
