Helper VAdd field in Source Data file - Doesnt appear in PQ
Hello,
I have many files in a folder with all the same structure.
I am consolidating all of these files in PQ.
I added a column in the files but getting that column to add in PQ is not so straightforward.
It looks like I click on "Source" and then click on "Binary" possibly and I can see that column I want to add but after adding it I get errors on the following steps so I am not sure if I am adding the column correctly.

CentaurHi VishalJhaveri, it looks like a plan to me. I will test it soon. i assume that in step 5 I have to select all the fields or only the field that is missing?

Hi VishaJhaveri, thank you. Please see attached 2 files. The PQ and the data file. I have pared down the data file. I have also explained what I am looking for in the data file. The column I need added is the column named "Column 1" in the data file and is Col P. The name of the column should be "Budget Category" but I have an error if I renamed the file so I left the name as simply "column 1" the default name. let me know if you have any questions. thanks again for the help. I appreciate it.

Hi and thanks for the response. I followed as prescribed and I do see the column but I get errors on steps further down. Adding a field seems to be much more difficult than it should be. I find the steps difficult due to conflicts in steps further down. Maybe it matters at what point you enter the custom column. I dont know. Its a little more involved than what I thought.
