Add a fixed custom column date based on another column.

Hello, I have search the community forums looking for a similar scenario to this but have not found anything even remotely close, so reaching out to see if anyone has come across this one.

I have a set of works order data which is pulled into powerbi for analysing manufacturing OTIF. This data has a start date and a need date and if the need date does not change then all is good, however if the plan changes I need to be able to confirm this and so I want to add a custom column which captures and then fixes this need date. If the need date changes then the custom column does not change, i.e. the date is fixed.

I have hopefully illustrated below what is described above, so if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi lbendlin, the plan changes due to not being supplied with components/sub-assemblies etc from either internal work centers or suppliers, the example shows that the 'original' need date was 18/02/2022 but was then changed to 21/02/2022 to reflect these delays. This change is not ideal and i would prefer that the need date never gets changed - but it does and hence why i am trying to capture and fix the original need date.

This data set is part of a much larger file so can only provide a snippet of the data for you to review.

I also do not have a drop box or similar to attach the file, so have to copy and past - sorry.

"if the plan changes"  - how?  It is not clear from the sample data.

Remember that Power BI has no concept of row order. You need to include an index column.

Please provide sanitized sample data that fully covers your issue. If you paste the data into a table in your post or use one of the file services it will be easier to work with. Avoid posting screenshots of your source data if possible.

Please show the expected outcome based on the sample data you provided. Screenshots of the expected outcome are ok.
