AD LDS for non-domain joined server with SSAS?
Rock, meet hard place. Hard place, meet rock.
There is (currently) no credentials pass through option for SSAS sources. Either Windows or OAuth2. Most likely not something you can implement in your setup.
Hello lbendlin,
Thank you for your response, I thought that will be not possible but just wanted to ask and to be sure since I am new to PBI...
Lets say the server cannot be joined to a domain. The most simple way for CompanyA is to create the windows accounts/users and then map them in PBI? What about the CompanyB? In this setup also the only way is to create windows account/users for them, install the new on-premise gateway and map them in PBI?
Is there any other solution for this setup? Or if we can somehow join the server to a domain, would it change something?
EDIT : Worth to mention that server is external.
Thank you.

I think it's even worse. You need TWO SSAS servers, and each of them needs to be joined to their respective domain. Won't work with external servers.
