Hi everyone,
If you have integrated SalesForce into PowerBI in your company - what are the realistic limitations you have experienced - both actual issues, or stuff you have to put in custom work arounds for?
Any clues welcome,
Anna
Here are some of the limitations that can be experienced when integrating Salesforce with Power BI:
Data Volume: Salesforce has a data volume limit, which can limit the amount of data that can be imported into Power BI. If you need to import a large amount of data, you may need to use a third-party data connector or write a custom solution to handle the data.
Data Freshness: The frequency of data refresh in Power BI is limited by the Salesforce API call limit and the number of data rows returned. If you require real-time data, you may need to use a custom solution that updates the data more frequently.
Data Security: Access to the data in Salesforce must be set up in both Salesforce and Power BI to ensure the security of the data. Custom security measures may need to be implemented to meet specific requirements.
Data Formatting: The data format in Salesforce may not always match the format required for reporting in Power BI. Custom data transformations may need to be implemented to meet reporting requirements.
Custom Objects and Fields: Custom objects and fields in Salesforce may not be available in Power BI, and custom solutions may need to be implemented to incorporate this data into reports.
Integration Maintenance: Over time, changes in Salesforce or Power BI may require updates to the integration. It is important to have a plan in place for maintaining the integration and to ensure that the integration continues to work as expected.
Note: The limitations may vary depending on the specific use case and the version of Salesforce and Power BI being used. It is always recommended to thoroughly test the integration before deploying to production.
