Power BI report with mobile layout not opening in PowerApps canvas app after integration

Hello,

I created a Power BI report with mobile layout viewability. Added a power BI Tile in canvas app and Added the web url of the report in "Tile Url". Upon accessing it through the canvas app it is not supporting Mobile view and it is coming up as a smaller version of web view.

Any suggestions to open the report in mobile viewability would be heartily appreciated.

Thanks....

It seems like you're facing an issue with Power BI reports not opening in the mobile layout within a PowerApps canvas app. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Check Power BI Mobile Layout: Ensure that your Power BI report actually has a mobile layout configured. To do this, open your report in Power BI Desktop, go to the "View" tab, and select "Mobile Layout." Make sure that you've designed your mobile layout appropriately.

  2. Tile Configuration: In PowerApps, when you add a Power BI tile, you need to configure it properly to display the mobile layout. Follow these steps:

    • Open your PowerApps canvas app.
    • Select the Power BI tile.
    • In the "Data" section of the properties panel, check that you have entered the correct "Tile URL."
    • In the "Size" section, make sure you've selected an appropriate size that's compatible with mobile layout (e.g., "Custom" and specify a size that fits well on a mobile screen).
  3. Web Page Control: If the Power BI tile doesn't display the report correctly in mobile view, consider using the "Web Page" control in PowerApps instead of the Power BI tile. This will allow you to embed the Power BI report as a web page and may provide better control over how it's displayed.

  4. Responsive Design: Ensure that your PowerApps canvas app is designed to be responsive. This means using layout containers like galleries and adjusting controls' sizes and positions to adapt to different screen sizes. This will help ensure that your Power BI report displays properly on mobile devices.

  5. Testing on Mobile Devices: Always test your canvas app with the Power BI report integration on actual mobile devices (iOS and Android) to see how it behaves in a real mobile environment. The behavior might be different than what you see in the PowerApps studio.

  6. Power BI Service Configuration: Check the Power BI Service settings to make sure that the report's mobile layout is enabled for sharing, and that sharing settings are configured correctly.

  7. Updates: Ensure that your PowerApps and Power BI applications are up to date. Sometimes, issues are resolved in newer versions.

  8. Community and Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to the PowerApps and Power BI communities or contacting Microsoft support. They can provide more specific assistance based on the latest updates and known issues.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the issue and make sure that your Power BI report opens in mobile view within your PowerApps canvas app.
