How to connect Power BI to Pervasive PSQL database

Hi All,

Our company is using Sage Pastel Partner, which stores data in a Pervasive PSQL database on prem. I am looking for some guidance in setting up a connection from Power Bi to this data.

I have tried using the Power BI connection PostgreSQL database, but I am not sure this is the correct connection to use or how to use it.

Please assist.

Hey Rob,

Yeah, it can be a pain. Pervasive is different from PostgreSQL which is pretty confusing. When looking up info on pervasive online it can be pretty confined.

I think if you use an on-premise gateway and connect via ODBC connector. So you can go and use a 32 bit power BI desktop app and add Pervasive.

Add a new data source and connect to ODBC and you should already have an ODBC connection to pervasive, use this one to add in a connection to the server. I have not done this myself but it's up and running where I work so it is possible.
