Starting from the next Power BI Mobile app update, the apps will no longer be able to connect to Report Server using the OAuth protocol through AD FS configured on Windows Server 2016.
This change is necessitated by a change in the authentication library used by the mobile app.
Using AD FS 2019 or newer will continue to be supported by the apps.
This change will be effective from the following app versions:
- Android – version 21241512 and beyond.
- IOS – version 33.9 and beyond.
Important note:
The change in no way affects Microsoft support for AD FS on Windows Server 2016, but rather only the ability of the Power BI Mobile app to connect to it.
