We’ve all been there - trying to view a Power BI report shared in Teams while keeping the conversation going. Until now, opening a report from a preview card would take over your Teams window, interrupting your workflow and making multitasking a challenge.
You asked, we listened. This month, we've introduced a subtle but powerful change that replaces the previous experience: when someone shares a report (or any other Power BI item) in a Teams chat or channel, opening it now launches in a separate window. Your original chat stays put, tucked into a collapsible side panel.
This update makes it easier to collaborate, multitask, and stay in flow—all without leaving Teams.
