On-premises data gateway April 2024 release

Here is the April 2024 release of the on-premises data gateway (version 3000.218.7).

Power BI Desktop Compatibility

This update brings the on-premises data gateway up to date with the April 2024 release of Power BI Desktop.

This version of the gateway will ensure that the reports that you publish to the Power BI Service and refresh via the gateway will go through the same query execution logic/run-time as in the April version of Power BI Desktop.

Continuous access token refreshes beyond the time of access token expiry

Access tokens typically expire 1 hour after the refresh starts, but can expire in less than 1 hour, depending on the data source and the tenant policies. Previously, we did not support mid-stream access token refreshes, resulting in refreshes longer than one hour to fail.

We are happy to announce that the on-premises data gateway now supports refreshes longer than one hour running for Dataflows Gen2 and semantic models. Refreshes longer than an hour can now refresh tokens mid-stream and continue to run.
