We’re excited to introduce QuickViz, a series of bite-sized Power BI visual challenges designed to make learning, sharing, and creating with data fun - one visual at a time.

Each week, we’ll post a new mini-challenge. These contests are perfect for anyone looking to practice skills, explore new visuals, and engage with the Fabric community - all without committing to a full report.

🎯 Why QuickViz Challenges?

QuickViz contests are designed to be simple and fun exercises:

  • Minimal time investment: 30 mins to an hour per challenge

  • Single visual focus: Bar chart, matrix, line chart, or any single visualization

  • Educational & fun: Learn as you create

  • Easy to share: Perfect for sharing your expertise here in the community or on social media

🚀 How to Participate

Everyone is welcome to participate!

  1. Check out the challenge for the week and get the dataset.
  2. Build your visual in Power BI.

  3. Submit your screenshot and .pbix file in the QuickViz gallery

🏆 What's at stake?

Winners will be featured in the QuickViz gallery, in the winner blog post, and will recieve Fabric swag! This contest is entirely community driven - so - the entries with the highest number of likes/kudos each week will win.

How does voting work?

Voting opens when submissions open, and closes at the end of the week, on Fridays (at 8am Pacific). Winners will be announced at the end of the week! That means, the earlier you get your viz in, the longer people have to see it and vote! Get your friends and colleagues to join the community and cast their votes.

It’s fast, fun, and a great way to practice, showcase, and connect with other data enthusiasts.

Hi,

Where is the dataset to participate?

Hi @slindsay ,

Is the Week 1 QuickViz Challenge dataset included in the sample file shared in the QuickViz Gallery, or are we allowed to use our own dataset?

Hello, post mentions the datased to be used, is the URL missing? Or shall we grab the sample file and use the database from it?
