โฌ ๏ธ Take me to the Power BI DataViz World Championships Home Page.
Week 2 of the Power BI DataViz World Championships was all about travel and you all took us around the world with your submissions! We had vizzes that looked like boarding passes, reports highlighting beautiful attractions around the world, a few food around the world themed reports, and reports featuring US national parks and hiking trails! Judging these gave us a serious case of wanderlust!
Huge kudos to everyone who submitted! We had 114 submissions this week, and generally speaking, judges noticed a marked improvement in overall quality from week 1! There was also much more attention paid to designing for accessibility this week, very well done!
Judges had an even harder time selecting a winner this week, and as such, we're annoucing a winner, a runner up, and also featured entries!
And now....๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Huge congratulations to Jon Sandmann for the winning entry, Visit the US National Parks! Jon's report combined an inforgraphic approach with a more traditional interactive report. The color palette was thoughtful, the report was easy to use and navigate, and judges especially appreciated the "Find your National Park" feature!
Jon, we're so excited to see you live on stage in Las Vegas!
The runner up is...
Congratulations to Injae Park, this week's runner up! Injae's report, a regional comparison of tourism in the UK, took us on a journey looking at time spent, spending, and number of visits to each region. The judges especially liked your Pareto chart - we had a long "how did he do that!" discussion!
Picking a winner was TOUGH
As you can see, judges had a really difficult time picking a winner. There were many great entries that deserve recognition. The amount of time, energy, and passion competitors put into these reports is remarkable. Thank you for giving a part of yourselves to this community!
This week's featured submissions were so fun to discuss! Please check them out and comment on the blog and/or the submissions - let people know what you think of their work!
At the end of the contest, we'll also be identifying a fan favorite using the kudos feature, so start going through and identifying your favorites and giving them a thumbs up ๐.
If you didnโt win this time, donโt worryโthere are two more chances to claim your spot in the finale! Stay tuned for next weekโs theme and get ready to show us what youโve got.
