Dataviz Contests - How to Submit

Fabric Data Days contests are here! If you're submitting for either the student or the professional contest, you'll submit in the Contests Gallery. If you're submitting a QuickViz challenge, you'll submit in the QuickViz Gallery.

 

How to submit your entry:

 

  1. You must be a member of the community to submit. Join the community by selecting register in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Sign in with your Microsoft account or create one.

  2. Read through the contest post to understand what to expect. Be sure to read the requirements and judging criteria carefully.

  3. Navigate to the gallery you're submitting to and select "Submit."
    • Reminder: if you're participating in the student or the professional contest, you'll submit in the Contests Gallery.
    • If you're participating in a QuickViz challenge, you'll submit in the QuickViz Gallery.
  4. Fill in all required fields including:
    • Title: Give your entry a descriptive title
    • Power BI Publish to Web URL: include this if you have it, but it's not mandatory.
    • Description: Tell readers what your report is about.
    • Category: This is required! Select the contest you're participating in - please only select one option!
      • There are 2 categories for Fabric Data Days - students joining the College Quest in Fabricland challenge, select Fabric Data Days Students. Anyone submitting to the Your Data Story contest, where you're creating an interactive resume, select Fabric Data Days Pros.
    • Allowed attachments: upload your .pbix file here. 
    • Thumbnail image: add an image. This will be the image displayed on the main gallery page

5. Select Publish.

 

  • Note that entries go through a moderation process, so they may not instantly appear in the gallery. Please allow up to 24 hours for your entry to appear.
  • If you do not include a publish to web URL, we'll upload your file for you to a community tenant. Please allow 10-15 minutes for your embedded report to appear.
