The “Connect” button may remain disabled when creating a new Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB connection in Fabric Data Pipeline due to input validation not being met, even if all fields are filled. Usually, Fabric requires the full MongoDB connection string in the correct format, not just separate endpoint and key values. Make sure you copy the exact connection string from the Azure Portal’s Connection String section and use it without changes. The string needs parameters like ssl=true, port 10255, and replica set details; missing or incorrect parameters will prevent the button from enabling.
Another reason is that the Fabric UI might not validate pasted values right away. Clearing all fields, entering them manually, and clicking outside each field can help trigger validation. Also, ensure the database name is valid and exists in Cosmos DB, since leaving it blank or incorrect can block the connection. Confirm that the authentication type matches your input, use the connection string option if needed, or key-based authentication with the correct username and primary key.
If the problem persists after correcting inputs, it may be a UI glitch in Fabric. Refreshing the page, using an Incognito window, or switching to Microsoft Edge often solves it. Alternatively, you can use the generic MongoDB connector by manually providing the host, port, SSL setting, and credentials, which works reliably even if the dedicated connector fails.
