Fabric Invoke Pipeline Activity fails with Code 2015 when using Service Principal Connection
Hi all,
Having an issue in Fabric Data Pipelines where trying to invoke a pipeline using a service principal connection is failing with:
Error code 2015
Failure type User configuration issue
Details Fabric activity failed. 'An item with the same key has already been added.'
They run fine when using an OAuth connection tied to my account, however I would like to use the service principal. Any idea why this is happening? There is another connection (a Power BI Semantic Model connection) tied to that service principal, but removing that did not seem to help.

Hi Creykish ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community forum.
The SPN authentication type currently supports these data sources:
- Azure Data Lake Storage
- Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
- Azure Blob Storage
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure SQL Database
- Dataverse
- SharePoint online
- Web
Please verify if you are using unsupported data source which may be resulting in the error .
I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.
Thank you

Hi Creykish ,
Even though you removed the other connection, Fabric may still have retained internal metadata or caches related to that SP identity.
Workaround and fixes:
Use Separate Service Principal
Switch to a User OAuth Token for Now
Fully Delete and Recreate the Connections
Delete all connections that use the SP
Clear browser cache (optional but helps)
Re-create the connection fresh, only in one place (e.g., for the pipeline)
If this post helps, then please appreciate giving a Kudos or accepting as a Solution to help the other members find it more quickly.
