November was another busy month in the community with several new or updated widgets, many exciting events and a lot of great content being created by our community users! In case you missed it, or are just looking for a recap, check out the latest happenings:
Users On-line Widget on the Home Page
There is a "Users on-line" widget that displays in the right rail of the home page of the community, as well as several pages within the community. Previously this widget was only text. Now you will see avatars instead of text:
If you'd like to update your avatar from the default image the community gives you when you register, check out our support article "Change Your Community Profile Picture (avatar)".
Recommendations Widget at Topic Level
Now available in the right-rail you will see the "Recommendations" widget. This widget will display targeted information based on current thread content and/or search criteria to help you find additional information.
New Top Solution Authors Leaderboard
A new widget is visible at thread level, "Top Solution Authors". The data visible is for the last 30 days, for the forum board you are viewing. You can click 'See all' on the widget and view data for that board for the last 24 hours, the last 7 days, the last 30 days (the default view of the widget), or all time.
Silver Stevie Award Received
We are so excited for you to read all about Sandy Rivas' (@Sandy) trip to New York City to receive a Silver Stevie® award. Check out "Innovative Microsoft Implementation for Communities Wins Silver Stevie® Award" for all the details. The innovation for which the award was given, Intelligent Content Syndication™ (ICS), will allow users to engage across product communities without having to leave the community!
Ask Amanda Anything Attendee Challenge
A challenge was issued to everyone who participated in our first AMA Event with Amanda Cofsky. Be on the look out in the coming weeks to learn what they were challenged with and who earned SWAG! The announcement will be made right here in News & Announcements!
Ask Amir Anything
The community hosted our second in the "Triple A" event series, our "Ask Amir Anything" live event on November 20th, with Amir Netz, Technical Fellow. Amir spent the whole hour answering questions from the attendees in this live event. It was a fantastic opportunity for our users to engage with Amir, and vice versa!
Keep an eye on the News & Announcements for our next in the series of "Triple A" events, coming soon!
Can You Solve These Challenge Winners Announced
There were two rounds of winners that received SWAG for participating in our "Community Challenge: Can You Solve These?" event. We appreciate ALL of our community members who regularly take time to answer questions and share their knowledge with the community. The Power BI community is growing rapidly and it takes everyone to make it successful, thank you!
Kudopalooza Winners Announced
Winners for our 2nd Kudopalooza event were announced on November 4th. The winners were added to the original post and can be viewed here: Announcing Our 2nd Kudopalooza Challenge - Congrats to the Winners! Winners were notified via private message in the community and earned SWAG! Another reason to keep your eye on our News & Announcements!
November Badge Roll-out
New "Solution" and "Kudos Received" badges were rolled out in four separate "waves" during November. Previously in the community, the highest number of solutions and kudos received that were awarded with a badge was ten. We recognize that as the community grows and our users become more and more engaged, answering questions, and providing solutions is vital to the communities success. Going hand in hand with solutions is earning kudos. Now users can earn badges for even more solutions and kudos received. To learn how to see all the badges you've earned, and how to see badges that other community users have earned, visit our support article "All About Community Badges".
If someone provides a solution to your question, please take a moment to click "Accept as Solution" or give a "thumbs up" (a kudo) if someone has been helpful!
