Hi all,
I have users in my org who can see the dashboards we published on desktop power bi with no issues. However, when trying to open the dashboard within the power bi mobile app, the same users were prompted that they needed a pro license. Is there a separate license needed for mobile users? Or do I need to have the app associated with our workspace somehow? Is there a way around this without buying more pro licenses for everyone? We have a premium workspace already.

hey @adu_kevin,
The mobile app does not require any special license to be used. If your users can access the reports from Power BI web service (app.powerbi.com), then they should be able to access it in the mobile app.
If this is not the case, please send us mail ("Power BI Mobile Support" <mpbisup@microsoft.com>) with the details (include which platform they are using, app version and a screenshot of the message you are getting, and the experience in the service).
Thanks Maya

Hi @adu_kevin
As @mshenhav mentioned, there is no special license needed for the Power BI mobile app. The mobile app follows the same licensing model as the Power BI Service. If users see a license prompt on mobile, it usually means there is a workspace or access configuration issue, not a unique mobile licensing requirement.
If you have any more questions, please let us know and we’ll be happy to help.

Hi @v-karpurapud and @mshenhav ,
Unfortunately this doesn't answer my question. I believe we are in a premium workspace but when my users attempt to use the power bi mobile application, they are prompted for a license. Is there something that is needed to link the mobile application to our workspace? I'm just confused as to why it would be accessible in browser and not on mobile.

Hey @adu_kevin ,
Power BI Mobile users require the same license as consuming Power BI reports in Power BI Service. You can learn more here: Licenses and Subscriptions for Business Users - Power BI | Microsoft Learn.
In short, user needs to be Pro user or content needs to be in premium workspace, for content shared in the organization.
Thanks, Maya
