Unable to drill down into visualizations via Power BI Mobile app for IOS

I am using Power BI mobile app version 9.1 on an IPAD running IOS 9.3.5 and I do not have the ability to drill down into any of my visualizations on reports.  The drill down option is available via the service, but not via the app.  Can someone please advise?

Hi,

Drill down is supported on iPads. There was an issue that we believe was resolved.

@foand can you please close the app and try again using the new version from store?

If the issue reoccurs  please let us know.

As for Phone drill down, this is currently not supported. you can keep track an vote via our feedback forum :

@forbesb

I reproduced same issue as yours. It seems drill down is only supported in Ipad and Win 10 app currently.

Regards,

This is only possible from web view for me on my android device. Through app I can just view the dashboard and nothing else I can do. Can someone help me on this? Can I share web link only to specific users?

I can confirm on v10.8 of the PowerBI iPad app on iOS there is no ability to drill down into records on visualisations.

You can put a visualisation into focus mode (maximise it) and data labels appear on clicking on values, but thats it.

Holding down or double clicking on a value on a bar chart for example does nothing.

This applies to both Dashboards and Reports.

Now in Power BI Mobile app you can continue to analyze your data and gain even more insights by using drill down and drill up in your report’s visuals.

Hi,

The drill down arrow does not appear in the visual tooltip (on my android phone)  as described by the article!!

Notes:

* I have an android phone with Android 7.0 OS

* I have installed the latest Power BI Mobile App (Version: 112014)

* Mobile App is connected to the Power BI Report Server (March 2018 Release)

* The visual contains heirarchy

* I am able to see the drill down arrow on the visual for the same report opened in Mobile App in iPads

* I am able to see the drill down arrow on the visual for the same report opened on laptop from PBIRS portal through Google Chrome and IE

Please advise

Luai

Hello Luai7,

Can you please verify the following:

1) That your phone has the latest chrome version.

2) If when using long tap, you get the drill down

Can you please contact us through our support mailbox - <mpbisup@microsoft.com>, and share screenshots as well?

Thanks Maya

Hi Maya,

I have the latest Chrome browser installed on my phone from Google Play [Chrome 65.0.3325.109].

I cleared all caching from Chrome browser and Power BI Mobile App and restared my phone but still facing the same issue. Long tapping the bar chart containg the heirarchy, the tooltip appears without the drilldown arrow!

This drilldown arrow appears when opening the report from laptop (from IE or Chrome) or a tablet (from Power BI Mobile App)

I will send you the screen shots to the email: mpbisup@microsoft.com

Thank you

Luai

On my Windows 10 phone app, I have to hold my finger down on a chart element and it pops up with a menu, one of the options is Drill down. Are you seeing that?

No holding my finger down on a visual doesn't open a menu.  I followed the steps outlined in the documentation below, however the only option that pops up is "Expand to Focus Mode".  On the web service the same chart in the report has drill up and drill down functionality.  I don't see the behavior described below on any of my visuals.

I can't verify because I do not have an iPhone. Perhaps someone else does. If it gets verified, I would file it as an Issue.
