SSRS Mobile 2016 - issues with DrillThrough in Android PowerBI App

Hi,

There seems to be an issue with Drillthrough functionality in Android PowerBI App connected to Report Server.

We have creates SSRS mobile reports (linked through Drillthrough) and saved them on SSRS server. When accessing the reports and trying to drill through the App is often showing:

An error has occured, please try again.

What's worth noting:

  • We have set up drill through to test both with and without parameters. Errors occur in both cases.
  • Trying the DrillTrhough for the second time opens the report just fine.
  • All reports are opening fine when opening them directly
  • There are no issues on iOS app
  • There are no errors in LogFiles on the Server (under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS13.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles)

SSRS Server version: 13.0.4435.0

Android App version: 111560

Android version: 6.0.1

Any ideas..?

Thanks,

Adam

Hi everyone

We have the same problem, on web it works fine but on Power BI App doesn't work.

Has anyone been able to solve it?

Thank you for any help

Hey @moises_martinez,

Mobile drill through has a dependency in server side code.

Since SSRS is not updated at the same frequency as Power BI service, this update will be available only in the next release of SSRS.

Thanks Maya

Hi,

Thanks for your questions.

Yes, we've tested on another SSRS server, version 13.0.4001.0 and other Android devices (Huawei P9 Android version: 6.0, Sony Xperia Z3 Android version: 6.01, Google Nexus 7 Android version: 6.0.1) and the issue occured on all.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi @AdaPod,

Ok, I will test on my side and report it if I can reproduce the issue.

Hi @v-shex-msft, any luck in reproducing the error? We've tried updated Android App (111584) and issue is still there.

Hi @AdaPod,

Does this issue only appear on specific report or all of your reports?

Just wanted to bump this post.

We have the same issue in our environment.

We have raised this as a bug with Microsoft support and it was confirmed and accepted. However there is no feedback from the product team regarding resolution... Smiley Sad
