Hi everyone,
Hoping someone can help or has experienced the same issue.
The problem: Users are unable to access a Power BI organisational app via the Microsoft Teams app on iPad. It works fine on Teams desktop and in the browser (app.powerbi.com) on all devices.
Error message: "You don't have access to view this page. Power BI was unable to read the application metadata due to access being forbidden. Please check the status of your account."
Environment:
Timeline: The publisher upgraded from Pro to PPU on a Monday. The app continued to work on iPad via Teams mobile for the rest of that week and through the weekend. It stopped working the following Monday. The fact that it worked for a full week before breaking makes us think it is not a simple permissions issue — it looks more like a cached session expired and the PPU entitlement check then failed.
What works:
What doesn't work:
What we've already tried:
Has anyone seen this behaviour after a Pro to PPU upgrade? Any ideas on what might be causing the entitlement check to fail on iOS Teams mobile specifically would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

This has been resolved! We can now access our app in Teams from mobile devices.

Great! Do you know if this still applicable to ios 26 or I need to use the old iphone for best compatibility?
Our current ios is updated to 26.5 and we have no issues with compatibility. Even before the update it is running.
Hi @victoria_kiwi19,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.
As we haven’t heard back from you, we wanted to kindly follow up to check if your issue is resolved? or any update from the Microsoft support team?
Other users who has similar issue, looks like it is a service-side issue affecting Power BI content embedded in Teams mobile specifically. I request you to please raise a microsoft support ticket so that they can see the additional reports from other regions that should help escalate it faster.
Thanks and regards,

Hi Everyone, This has been raised to Microsoft and currently it is a Teams issue. They have informed us that the Teams' team is currently handling it. No resolution as of now apart from opening your apps from the browser or from powebi itself. Best to raise a ticket to them so it will be all recorded seeing it is happening not just in one location rather world wide. I will give an update if I hear from them but for now they said to give them time to investigate and resolve the issue.

We're having the same issue with our users in Brazil.
The PowerBI standalone app is working fine, the issue is with Teams
Our Users in germany have the same problem.
Can not open the embedded PowerBI Teams app. Please fix asap. It already persists since last friday, 7days already.
Hi
the team is working on a fix and we will share more details by Monday
Thanks
Yariv
Been with Microsoft Support and they will check on it and no solution yet. They would love if you can report it as apparently no other users have reported this issue apart from us.
Yeah, I submitted a ticket yesterday and linked to this thread. Here's hoping!
We also experienced this issue today. Our workspace is still a Pro workspace. All our users have Pro licenses. When using the Teams mobile app to access the Power BI app embedded in a channel, they receive the error message "Power BI was unable to read the application metadata due to access being forbidden. Please check the status of your account." This occurs on both IOS and Android. Users are still able to access on the Teams desktop application and Teams on the web. Everything was working fine until today.
I have a meeting with Microsoft Support today so I'll find out what the resolution is. This is really helpful because it doesn't mean it's because of a PPU upgrade of the publisher rather an issue either with the iOS or the embedded app in Teams.
Check out the May 2026 Power BI update to learn about new features.
