Polish Diacritical Characters Display Issue in Power BI Mobile App

Issue Description:

In the Power BI mobile app, Polish diacritical characters are not displayed correctly. Instead, they appear in a different, default font instead of the intended font. Examples of such characters include: ą, ć, ę, ł, ń, ó, ś, ź, ż.

Additionally, this issue is evident on the report loading screen as well, indicating that it is a problem with the app itself.

Steps Taken:

Verified and set the language of the mobile app to Polish.
Ensured the use of standard fonts that support diacritical characters (Arial, Verdana, Segoe UI).
Updated the mobile app to the latest version.

Expected Behavior:
I expect the Power BI mobile app to correctly display Polish diacritical characters in the intended font, as it does in Power BI Desktop and in the web browser.

Additional Information:

The issue only occurs in the mobile app.
The file's regional settings and the device's language are set to Polish.
The encoding of the data sources is verified to be UTF-8 and correctly imported.

Please assist in resolving this issue.

Thank you for your support.

  • Hi,

This issue has already been reported to the technical support team, and they have addressed it. It appears to be a global issue with displaying special characters, such as Polish diacritical marks, on the mobile version. This affects not only the app but also the mobile web browser view.
So, I think that we can close this topic.

Edit: The new idea addressing this issue has been posted. I would appreciate it if you could vote for it.

Hi @jajecko ,

Thank you for reaching us. I'll verify your question and I have a question that I need to confirm with you.

First of all, please forgive me for my lack of understanding of Polish.

Through my research, I have found that your Polish word is 'sales by category', what should the correct word show here?

Similarly, what should the loading report display correctly?

I am trying the translation software to check, it seems that the translations are correct, please give me a more detailed explanation, thanks.

Best Regards,

Stephen Tao
