How do I set up the ability to download to PDF from the Power BI app? My field technicians are using an Andriod tablet and would like to be able to download all pages (or a single page) from the dashboard to a single PDF and send to the customer. There is no option in the mobile app like there is in the desktop service.
Here are a few more suggestions:
I believe I've covered all of the main options for exporting Power BI dashboards to PDF from the Power BI mobile app for Android.
If you have any specific requirements or constraints, please do let me know as I will advise accordingly.
These are a few additional options that you can consider to provide your field technicians with the ability to download Power BI dashboards as PDFs from the Power BI mobile app for Android.
Keep in mind that this option may have some limitations, such as the need for a stable internet connection and the requirement for more processing power and memory on the tablet. However, if you have the resources and the technical expertise, this can be a good solution to export the dashboard to PDF.
4. Use a virtual machine (VM) to run the Power BI desktop app on the Android tablet. By using a VM, you can access the full Power BI desktop app on your Android tablet and use it to export the dashboard to PDF. There are several cloud-based VMs available that allow you to run Windows on an Android tablet, and these can be used to access the Power BI desktop app.
3. Use Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow) to automate the export of the dashboard to PDF. This would require setting up a Power Automate flow that triggers when a button is clicked, exports the dashboard to PDF, and saves the file to a cloud storage service such as OneDrive or SharePoint.
2. Use the Power BI API to programmatically export the dashboard to PDF. This would require some programming knowledge and the setup of a web service, but it would provide a flexible solution that can be customized to meet your specific needs.
1. Use a cloud-based service that provides the ability to export a Power BI dashboard to PDF. There are several such services available that allow you to export Power BI dashboards to PDF format, and they can be accessed from the Android tablet.
However, there are a few workarounds that you can consider to achieve this functionality:
These workarounds may not be ideal, but they can provide a solution for your field technicians to download a PDF of the dashboard until the feature is added to the Power BI mobile app.
3. Use a third-party tool, such as Microsoft Print to PDF, to print the dashboard as a PDF. This would require the field technicians to access the dashboard on a web browser, as the option to print to PDF is not available in the mobile app.
2. Share the dashboard with your field technicians via the Power BI service, and they can access the dashboard on a web browser on the tablet. From there, they can export the dashboard to a PDF.
1. Take screenshots of the dashboard and stitch them together into a single PDF document. This can be done using a third-party image editing tool or a screenshot tool on the Android tablet.
Hello @A_Scott,
Unfortunately, the ability to download a Power BI dashboard as a PDF is not currently available in the Power BI mobile app for Android. The option to export a dashboard to PDF is only available in the desktop version of Power BI.
