Connecting Power BI mobile app to on-premises Power BI report server

Hi,

I'm try to connect Power BI mobile app in iPad with VPN to our on-premises Power BI report server.

I'm getting following error message:

Server address isn't valid

A server with the specified hostname could not be found.

Verify the address is a SQL Server 2016 Reporting Service address and try again.

Why the error says that is tring to connect to SQL Server 2016 Reporting Service?

We do not have SQL Server 2016 Reporting Service, only Power BI Report Server (on-premises)

Our setup is 

Windows Server 2012 R2

SQL Server 2016 Ent.

Power BI Report server (Not SQL Server Reporting Service !)

Is Power BI Mobile app connects only to SQL Server Reporting Service?

Hi @Ganendran,

AFAIK, power bi mobile also supports connect to power bi report server. If you tried to use IP and ports to instead, did these works?

In addition, what type of device and power bi mobile app version are you tested? can you please share more detail information?

Yes, with IP address and ports, ik can make connection.
