Can you publish PowerBI mobile app version to the app stores like google play / apple store?

Can you publish PowerBI mobile app version to the app stores like google play / apple store?

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Hi @mrexcellent

It may be not simple. Your individual Power BI reports are usually saved as .PBIX files. They are not applications. If you want to share your reports for people to download, you can upload them somewhere and share a download link of them with others.

Otherwise, if you want to submit an App to the App store, you need to submit it and wait for the approval. You may contact the App store side to see whether they can accept .PBIX file to be published. Even though it could be downloaded, users still need to install Power BI Desktop to open it. And Power BI Desktop is not supported on mobile devices.

If you just want to show report content with others rather than the report file, you can try Publish to Web feature in Power BI Service. Share the report link with other people.

Anyway, if you want to submit an App, here is a blog for your reference: https://instabug.com/blog/how-to-submit-app-to-app-store/

Another option is that you may consider the Embed scenario. You can embed a Power BI report in your own application: https://docs.microsoft.com/power-bi/developer/embedded/embed-customer-app This requires much more development experience.

Hope this helps.

Hey @mrexcellent ,

The apps are published on a regular cadenace to the public stores (GooglePlay and App Store).

To get the latest version, open your store app from your phone and search for Power BI.

Thanks, Maya

Apoligies, as my question was not clear. I was wondering if it's possible to push my own individual power bi reports as a strandalone app in the app stores.
