Barcode Filter doesn't work

Hello everybody, hope you're well.

I'm facing an issue and I hope you will be able to help me.

I have two reports on Power BI Desktop that I pushed in the Power BI service. The two reports have their own datasets and both of them have a column categorized like Barcodes in their own datasets. I'm doing all that because I want to be able to scan a barcode with my phone camera with the Power BI Mobile App, and have all the data with the barcode as filter.

It's work for the first report but not with the second.

I'm wondering if it is not because the first report doesn't have any filter and the second one has several.

Also, in the second report, I have a measure, I don't know if it can be the reason.

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Hello,

I'm glad to inform you that I've found the solution of my problem.

The filter doesn't work on my second report because I didn't correctly make the relations between the tables that I have.

Thank you very much for your help.

From the home page or from the footer of the report, I have the same result.

The first report filter normally the visuals, but the second one don't. I only have the visuals like they was before filtering.

Below some screenshoots

Second report before filtering

And the two reports are in the same application

Thanks @eric98 ,

Can you please make sure that your report dataset includes only one table with barcode column and that this is the one you used in the report?

It will also help if you can send us your PBIX, you can send it to the following email:

Is it possible for you to share a recording for the scenario?

and send it to the following email address?
mpbisup@microsodt.com

Thanks,

Michal

Hi @eric98 ,

We couldn’t reproduce this issue on our environment ,can you please provide additional information?

  • Did you scan from the Home page ore from the report footer?
  • When you say it didn’t work what exactly didn’t work?
    • You didn’t saw the report in the list
    • You got an error that the report could not be filtered?
    • You didn’t notice any filtering on the report after scanning?
  • Does the report was filtered on barcode before scanning?

If you can provide screenshots that will help us to understand the scenario or share the pbix

Thanks,

Michal
