json to set default font for text box possible as not picking up global visual property in theme

Hi,

Had a look on forum as having issue with when add text box to power bi report the text defaults to segui rather than font which has been set in theme file.

Other visuals pick up the font which has been set as expected, even when no local visual json property has been set which is the way woudl also expect text box to behave however text box defaults to segoe.

Couldn't find any theme snippet for setting text box json as local visual.

Another post on forum had suggested using default properties which looks to work for other visuals apart from text box.

How can you set the default font of any text box added to be a ceratin font and size?

Hi @po,

Based on this article, textbox is not listed in available visualName, it's not supported to specify desired font family and size for textbox. 

But we can set font color for textbox, as the foreground applies to textbox text, see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-report-themes#structure-of-a-report-theme-json-fil...

Yes the foreground gives the desired colour.

Do you know if microsoft have any plans to give this functionality in future to allow text box fontfamily and szie to be set?

Hi,

Noticed set as Delivered - still don't seem to have ability to set fontfamily and size - have latest version of power bi desktop.

Is it in the next release e.g. nove 2018 of power bi desktop?

Any update here? I also would like to set the default font for text boxes with the JSON custom theme code. It works for all of the other visuals. Why doesn't it work for text boxes?
