icon map tool tips no longer working - how to fix

Hi all, i have a project that used to be work a couple of weeks ago but now ive gona back to it and its bugging. before i could hover over areas in my icon map and it would have a white bubble telling me the name of the area and the value it help whereas now it just shows a small white box with no infomation in it 😞 please help if possible as need to present it soon and this is a major bug as i cant see my data which is the whole point! i wasnt sure if i changed something or if its gone out of data but i updated powerbi desktop and tried remaking the map but neither has helped

Affecting all of my reports too, including some that haven't been updated for more than 2 years, sitting in the Service. Suspect the change was within the past two weeks. 

Seems like custom tooltips still work though. I've just learned though that we must create visuals first, resize them, then re-size the tootip page, thanks to another bug in PBI Desktop. If you size the page first the visuals glitch out in the properties pane.

So the issue happened on Desktop and remained unresolved after your update, yes? What is your current version of Desktop? What version was it before the update?

 I downloaded powerBI desktop version from the microsoft store end of july so it was pretty recent, and then yesterday I updated it to this 2.132.1053.0 64-bit (August 2024). The issue appeared before i updated i think, as that is why i thought updating might fix it.

sorru im still quite new to powerbi, what do you mean by resize the tooltips page? before i didnt do anything and the tooltips just worked and now i tried messing around with this but it doesnt do anything. is this the page your talking about or how do i do what you suggested?

I haven't updated or changed anything, neither in pbi nor in the extension, but the tooltips are missing on all boards
No matter how I tried, I can't get them back
If you find a fix, please let me know

Hi @Anonymous,

Looks like you work for MS? My guess is that it's actually an issue with Leaflet/Open Street Maps. You can see it affecting the embedded PBI on the IconMap website (under Tooltips section) Icon Map - Usage - Circles (icon-map.com).

@Lofy you can still use custom tooltips.

Does this issue only happen with Icon maps at the moment? Have other visual received the effect?

I encounter the same issue. All other QuickInfos work fine, only the IconMap visuals are affected (empty QuickInfos). Has anyone found a solution or workaround to this problem?

hi.
I thing that the problem is in the version of the IconMapV3 component. I have version 3.2.4.5 on the server (it was uploaded there by itself). I have the component in version 3.2.0.0 locally and the problem does not appear there. Does anyone know how to force the server to use the same version of the component as I have locally?
