XMLA end point partition rowcount wrong for aggregate import tables

we have a data set with incremental refresh on top of aggregate tables. The AGG are all import. I know data is there because profiler reports that the AGG is being used and data returns. The partitions list in SSMS shows #rows = 0 but does update the last updated column. Since these tables are import, I would expect a value for #rows
