I understand "Folders" are in preview on Fabric but since we can move and organize reports or others items. Why is there no API at all to have the location of a specific item ?
The API -> "powerbi/metadata/groupmetadata" provides all info I need such as subfolderID for all item objects and parentSubfolderId for all folders objects.
But the access token to connect to this API is only accessible via my own user refresh_token which :
- is not practicle in order to automate somme process
- is not accessible via the service principal of the App
I am sure, devs are working on new API specific to these folder preview but it is preview since 6 month now and i don't know how long it will take.
Is it an API in order to access the subfoldersID and the subfolder where is my report in, or is there juste a new attribut to affect on items which says what is the current "path" of an item (report, dashboard, ...). -> this option is way better I think.
I need to know because we need it in order to finalize a developpment...
