Hi @FernandoGil ,

I can't reproduce the issue. Could you give us more details about your scenario?

  1. What about other browsers?
  2. Are there any other error messages?
  3. Is this the issue for all reports?
  • If it is, have your colleagues encountered this issue?
  • If not, what's the data source and connection type? What's the size of the dataset?

Best Regards,

Icey

Hi Icey, good morning,

Hope everything is well with you.

We are having this issue in all the browsers, there aren't any more errors, and this issue appears in all reports created as follows:

 - BI team creates a semantic model and then publish the datasets to Power BI service, where the datasets are promoted to business users. Business users are able to connect to these datasets and create reports in Power BI service and publish them to their workspaces, but afterwards they cannot download them as PBIX to share the report back with the BI team. Note that the users are able to see the download to *.pbix option, but they are getting an error after click on “download PBIX”. This is misleading the end users and also no warring pop-up as well.

 - As the setup is already configured and we (BI team) don’t want to rebuild all reports again, you are looking for alternative ways to accomplish your requirement.

Best regards,

Fernando

Hi @FernandoGil ,

Business users are able to connect to these datasets and create reports in Power BI service and publish them to their workspaces,...

Do the users create reports in Power BI Service workspaces, not in the shared dataset's workspace, directly like below? If so, it is impossible to download the .pbix file by design.

create report.JPG

In addition, as for the reason why the "Download the .pbix file" option appears, it may be a bug. And I'll submit it internally.

Best Regards,

Icey
