Unable to connect to Exchange on-premises

Hi All,

I'm struggling to get the Exchange connector working with our on-premises Exchange 2013 server, the mailbox I'm testing with passes all autodiscover tests on exrca.com including the EWS one. When connecting with PowerBI desktop Version: 2.59.5135.781 64-bit (June/2018) we just get the following message.

I've pasted the Trace Logs in the following link if anyone can be of assistance...

Thanks,

Hi All,

I'm struggling to get the PowerBI connector for Exchange to work, we have Exchange 2013 on premises and the mailbox I'm testing with passes the autodiscover tests on exrca.com, it also passes the EWS tests (not sure if these are required?). We just get the below error when trying to connect with PowerBI desktop.

I've enabled trace logging and have pasted the scrubbed logs in the link below.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I don't believe this to be an Autodiscover issue. I've enabled Trace Logging and have pasted the scrubbed logs in the below link.

@itsdandandan,

I am able to use Exchange connector in Power BI Desktop July release .

In your scenario, please update to latest version of Power BI Desktop, use Exchange Account authentication in Desktop, enter UPN account and make sure you allow Exchange autodiscover service as shown in the above screenshot.

Lydia

I have the same problem. Is there a way to manually specify the URL to the Exchange Server?

Hi Lydia,

I updated to the July release and it did not help, the same issue persists. In your screenshot you are connecting to an Exchange Online mailbox. This isn't really a good test...

The mailbox I'm testing with passes all the tests on exrca.com which leads me to believe it is a PowerBI problem.

@timrodman I don't believe there is.
