Unable to connect to Databricks from Power BI Desktop (ODBC error)

Since today we can't connect to our Azure Databricks instances through PBI Desktop. It seems like there is an issue with the ODBC driver.

Error message: "DataSource.MissingClientLibrary: The 'Driver' property with the value '{Simba Spark ODBC Driver}' does not match an installed ODBC driver."

Is this a Power BI issue? Maybe an issue in the latest PBI update? PBI Desktop version 2.132.1053.0

Status: Delivered

Download this version and make sure you open files in that version and it will work, this is obviously a temp fix, but means you can use the desktop version until that fix is released

Just to check, make sure you open with this version, right click your file and open with, select the newly installed older version.

It will default to the new broken version.

We have a new version of PBI Desktop (2.135.7627.0) deployed to the Microsoft Store. We verified from our side that the issue with Simba Drivers is resolved. Please install the new version from the store. We would appreciate your confirmation that it is adressing this issue for you!

Thanks,

Alex.

@AlexGorev

That update in the Microsoft store looks to have resolved the issue.

Thanks for the updates.

Hi Team,

My Power BI  is set on auto update. How can I get the latest updated downloaded.

@SRPowerBi14User

I went to the Microsoft Store. I clicked on "Open" to open the Power BI app.

I checked the version in the "About" section.

I closed the Power BI app but left the Microsoft Store app open.

A couple of minutes later it started the download and update process itself within the Microsoft Store interface.
