Unable to connect to Databricks from Power BI Desktop (ODBC error)

Since today we can't connect to our Azure Databricks instances through PBI Desktop. It seems like there is an issue with the ODBC driver.

Error message: "DataSource.MissingClientLibrary: The 'Driver' property with the value '{Simba Spark ODBC Driver}' does not match an installed ODBC driver."

Is this a Power BI issue? Maybe an issue in the latest PBI update? PBI Desktop version 2.132.1053.0

The Power BI On-Premises Gateway has the same issue.  Will this also be fixed?

BTW, this issue exists in Sept/Oct distributions of PBI Gateway, where it tries to use a "New" folder for the drivers.

Hi All,

Just joining.

Sound kind of the same issue we have since October 13th connecting to Dremio Cloud ODBC connector from Power BI Service located in European MS Tenants and Power BI Desktop last update.

Proposed workaround by MS is to downgrade PBI Desktop and deploy on-prem August release of Data Gateway server.

Sounds that a fix has been deployed on some US MS Tenant, but impossible to get some ETA regarding fix deployment on European platform.

Working version of PBI Service on US Tenant:

Service Version 13.0.24436.48
Client Version 2410.2.21363-train

Failing version of PBI Service on European Tenant:

Service Version 13.0.24436.48
Client Version 2410.2.21281-train

Finally, European MS tenants is at the same client version than the US ones, at least the one I'm using.

No more ODBC errors.

Back to business.
