Hi @KoenM

Microsoft Store had previously uploaded the wrong version, so that caused some problems. PG has now uploaded the correct version, and some of the issues with Desktop will be fixed as soon as the update is available. I'm glad that your issue is resolved.

Hi @KoenM

Where are you refreshing the report to get this error? Was this report refreshing properly before? Did you do any updates in the meantime?

I was refreshing the report in Powerbi desktop (october 2024 version which I didn't ask for).

In the previous version it refreshed perfectly.

In the meantime I uninstalled the october version and reinstalled the august version and now it's working just fine

I'm having the same issue: can't refresh any of my reports with the latest version of Power BI Desktop.

Is there any updates on this from Microsoft side?

According to @v-yetao1-msft they should have uploaded a new and corrected version. I just reinstalled an older version and didn't update yet.

Hi,

I started getting this error since an hour ago. I am using Power BI Desktop version: 2.136.1202.0 64-bit (September, 2024)

Error message (View all messages) Token '=' expected. Start position: (1, 36). End position (1, 39).

I tried reinstalling the desktop version but no luck

Where can I get the earlier version? I tried but all the sites/blogs are redirecting to the latest version

Thanks,

Hi, I'm getting the same error. I've got my PowerBI desktop updted today and I'm not being able to update my dashboards.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Download all the previous versions of Power BI Desktop -

Previous monthly updates to Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

I restored to the Aug 2024 version and was able to refresh the reports

Same issue, just got the new Desktop Version (2.136.1202.0) installed from the Microsoft Store. I was so happy about the dark mode, but that happiness disappeared pretty fast...
However some reports work and I only receive this error refreshing reports that use custom themes.
