Slicer (new) resetting default

Hi,

I posted about this in the forums and seems like more than me are seeing the same issu.

The new button slicer keeps resetting to the left most button even though it is saved in another state.

As an example I have a report with year filter (year from date table) and timeperiod filter (calculation group), I have it saved as 2023 and YTD but when closing and reopening the report it is set to 2022 and MTD. Same behavior in service.

Status: Investigating

HI @adnyk

I created a new slicer in Desktop, selected 2023, and then published to Service, with the new slicer selection remaining the same as before.Do you have any other filters set up besides slicer, or can you provide your sample for testing?

Absolutely same here.

I have new slicer with Sales team members and another one for each quarter and year.

The way I have got it to work is to go into every quarter and year and select sales person number 2 in every one and then it seems to work?  Total pain and would really like to know when this has been fixed, so I can pass the information upwards. Thank you.

I'm experiencing the same issue.  It seems it has to do with changing any settings in the Title.  If I change the Title font, or disable the Title, then the slicer stops retaining its preset value when publishing to the service.

To fix the issue, I click the "Reset to default" button in the Title category and then publish to the service again.  The one consolation is that you can at least change the colour of the font without breaking the slicer.

If you follow the steps above and it still doesn't appear to be working in the service, you may need to click the "Reset to default view" button in the service.

On my end the issue seems fixed. Can someone verify?

I'm still getting the issue where if I don't click force select, it will just clear the slicer when going between tabs.  Not sure if it's the same issue though.

@Nexter sorry for any confusion. I guess I could not have had been more unspecific. On my end in the PBI Service it seems to work fine. (PBI Desktop same the still issue, will probably be fixed with update in January)

Not sure if this is related but I can't add labels to the new slicer either.

I have a table with columns for ID number, category, description and image URL - I add the category to the slicer, then under Callout Values > Label the field to add data just will not allow me to add the description.

Same issue for images too. Is this happening for anyone else?
