Seeing filled map issues in web view - Started 11-21-2022

As of 11-21-2022 started seeing issues where the filled map is blank on the web but works fine on the desktop app. It has been working fine for the last several months but just stopped showing the filled-in map as of this week.

-Desktop app view.

Workaround:

The customer can categorize their location column, but this requires an authoring change in desktop and re-publish.

Hi @AMZBrando ,

Just to confirm with you.
Does this question occur after you publish the Report from PBI Desktop to PBI Service and you have not done any export to PDF/PPT operation on the report?
We have users who have had similar experiences in this situation. If you are the same and currently have an icm in progress.

Best regards.

Hi @v-xiaoyan-msft

Yes - that is correct. The issue occurs after you publish the Report from PBI Desktop to PBI Service. Just the web view as we do not do any export to PDF/PPT.

We have not generated any IcM at this time. If you would like me to create an IcM, please let me know what service to send it to.

Hi @AMZBrando ,

A new production Issue is added in Power BI Known Issue list.

For filled maps (either the Bing filled map visual or an Azure map visual using the filled map layer) geospatial calls will fail and render blank maps.

The customer can categorize their location column, but this requires an authoring change in desktop and re-publish.Engineers are working on the fix, ETA will be updated once available.

Best regards.

@v-xiaoyan-msft

The issue seems to be fixed as the map color is working again as of 11/28 when publishing to the web.
