Score Sentiment Stopped working July 1, 2024

We have a report with Score Sentiment that has been successfully refreshing for many months, as of July 1st it stopped refreshing on both Desktop and Web with the following Error:

DataSource.Error: An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'An internal error occurred.'
Details:
DataSourceKind=AIFunctions
DataSourcePath=AIFunctions
DataSourceKind.2=AdoDotNet
DataSourcePath.2=AI.Provider/

No change has been made to the report

Status: Delivered

Hi all ,

Score sentiment can work well in PBI Desktop (version 2.131.901.0 64-bit (July 2024) ) . You guys can update PBI Desktop to the current version and test it.

As for the refreshing issue with Service that you guys mentioned, it's a general problem. Fabric Customers with tenants located in Central US region may encounter issues while interacting with the service .  The issue has now been resolved, please verify on Service.

Hi @Jumpkicks

What is your data source ? Is your data source working properly? If you recreate a report, can you get data from that data source?

the datasource works correctly, we have many reports connected and still refreshing, only a single report with a single table that has a Score Sentiment is not working. I tried recreating the table and it works until the Score Sentiment is added then breaks with the same issue.

Hi @Jumpkicks

Can you describe in detail how you added Score Sentiment? Show us how you did it by taking a screenshot or a video.

I add it using the Text Analytics option in the "Transform Data" window. I have tested with Detect Language and Extract key phrases and they work as expected. it is only Score Sentiment that doesnt work:

I am aslo experiencing the same issue. Our report refreshes every week, and today's refresh (7/15) failed due to the Score Sentiment function.

The other Text Analytics functions work properly but not the Score Sentiment one.

Yep.. same here.. other analytics works, so it doesnt seem like its a data source credentials issue.

Same problem for desktop and service.

Same issue for us. We've tried recreating a fresh report to invoke the Score Sentiment AIFunction and receive the same error.
