Refresh popup messages (and others) not displaying correctly

In the latest version (Version: 2.114.664.0 64-bit (February 2023)), all display boxes in PBI desktop aren't displaying correctly. Is this happening to other users? I can find an area to post to Microsoft. Some examples attached.

The product team have been aware of the issue and the engineers will do their best to resolve it.

 

“We are working on the fix. Meanwhile you can try disabling the Multimonitor DPI by setting
System / Environment variables / User vairables / Add 

PBI_PerMonitorDpiAware = 0

I was using the Feb 23 version to create new reports with conditional formatting (I had to tab through the options and guess that I was choosing OK vs Cancel because I couldn't see the buttons.. Anyways, I've installed the Dec 22 version with help from my IT because like others my computer is locked down and the file I created with the Feb 23 version is not compatibile with the Dec 22 version.  Certain things don't work and error out .. like conditional formatting in a table.  So, I'm still stuck.

I downloaded the Feb 2023 version and haven't come across any further problems for what it's worth.

The temporary fix did not work unfortuantely. Still the same issue on the Feb 2023 version.

Installing the Dec 2022 edition has worked, but is a ticking timebomb because if anyone amends my pbix file using Feb 2023 edition I will not be able to modify myself as working on an older version of desktop.

I am the only person in my organisation with this issue (over 10k users of the software). Aren't I the lucky one!

I had the same issue with Feb'23 version of PBI desktop. The PBI_PerMonitorDpiAware=0 workaround helped me.

Hi, do we have any update on the permanent fix for the DPI issue yet? Getting to be a real issue with only loading an older version (Dec 22) currently working for me. As people who are using Feb 23 version start updating live pbix files, I am no longer able to amend them as using an older version of PBI Desktop. Thanks Rich

I'm using the Feb '23 version with the windows DPI changes and haven't had any issues since I made the change.  Still can edit .pbix files since I'm on same version, or at least up to this point.  Hoping for store update soon to get back to normalcy though..

The PBI_PerMonitorDpiAware=0 workaround stopped working in March-2023 version (although it worked in Feb-2023 one).

Is it expected?

Any idea how to fix it now?

UPD: The problem dissapeared after I'd removed PBI_PerMonitorDpiAware enviromental variable and restarted PBI Desktop.

Hi guys,

I fixed the problem by installing previous version (december 2022) but since today the problem appeard again... 

I don't know what to do as I have to work for a customer but I cannot work as having boxes like this is like don't having them... 😞

I alreay tried editing user variabile like you suggested but it didn't work for me

Not sure if you will find the same, but my issue on this related to a multi screen setup using different screen resolutions. I found that if I disconnected the monitor and restarted, I could work on my laptop screen... Not ideal, but at least I could then see the content in the popup boxes. This issue seems to be hit and miss. I am the only one in my organisation with the issue (10k+ users)...
