Published PBI report file converts date to US format

Hi Friends,

I used dd/mm/yyyy  HH:MM:SS AM/PM format on PBI desktop file, but when published to my workspace online (power bi pro user), that date is converted to US format mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM:SS AM/PM.

I only just noticed this happening as a new power bi user today.

My regional settings (options -> regional settings)  is English (Australia), and in PBI desktop and service it is set to 'default (browser language)' (if i select "select display language" only english (united states) appears so maybe this is why its converting it to a US Style date ?). It has always been set to this. On my computer my region settings is "Australia" for country and regional format is "english (Australia). the "short date" is dd/mm/yyyy

example:

In power bi desktop:
17/07/2023 9:55:00 AM

27/07/2023 2:25:00 PM

published version showed as:
7/17/2023 9:55:00 AM

7/27/2023 2:25:00 PM

 Please help!

I've also tried the recommended tip but this didn't help: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Desktop/Date-format-changed-when-published-to-PBI-Service/...

many thanks!

Hi  @AG_x11x

What if you delete the report and re-upload it from Desktop ? Is your browser language set to English (Australia)?

Thanks for your message! Yes, i've deleted then re-uploaded and the issue continued. Yes, I made sure my chrome browser language settings is english(Australia).

Also, now it is visualising correctly in Australian format but when I use the "export data" from a table with the date... it exports with an American date style not what is visualised on the published version or power bi desktop file. However, when i extract data from power bi desktop file - the date column remains in Australian date format as visualised.

example:

In power bi desktop:

1/07/2023 10:00:05 AM
17/07/2023 9:55:00 AM

27/07/2023 2:25:00 PM

published version showed as:
1/07/2023 10:00:05 AM
17/07/2023 9:55:00 AM

27/07/2023 2:25:00 PM

exported version data shows as:

7/1/2023 10:00:05 AM

7/17/2023 9:55:00 AM

7/27/2023 2:25:00 PM

I am facing the same issue except my issue is with the parameter.  Everything else in the report is fine but parameter's date format changes from Australian DD/MM/YYYY format to US MM/DD/YYYY when Power BI Report is published to Online Service.

I've checked everything that I could think of and as far as I know Region / Format is all set to English (Australia).

I have cleared cashe and re-published the report but it didn't work.

My parameter is very simple - just one parameter to work out last 12 months data.

Parameter Type is "Date" and Suggested Values "Any value".

Any help appreciated.
