PowerBI Desktop Nov 2021 error connecting to sharepoint list

We have an on-prem sharepoint site that PowerBI connects to. We could refresh the PowerBI report until after we upgraded to PowerBI Desktop November 2021 (from October 2021).  When we connect to the data source, specify the sharepoint list site url, microsoft auth, and it prompts for credentials, we get Something went wrong.  Object Reference not set to an instance of an object.  We cannot connect to the data source to refresh.  

I downgraded to October 2021 PowerBI Desktop and that works again.

Please advise on solution so we can keep our PowerBI tool up to date and still connect to this data source.

As far as I know, it was a known issue internal and you can try this workaround currently from PG team:

Ensure the webview2 is latest by installing windows updates and Webview2 update: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/

As a workaround run setx PQ_ExtendEdgeChromiumOAuthDenyList SharePoint;Web on the command line, and restart Power BI Desktop
