Hi  @Kale77 ,

Did the previous version of Power BI Desktop work properly on your computer?

Even if you have reinstalled Power Bi Desktop, I still recommend that you perform a full uninstall by following and ensure that you remove any residual files and registry entries before reinstalling:

1.Uninstall Using Control Panel

2.Delete Remaining Files and Folders of the Program

3.Remove Software Keys from Windows Registry

4.Empty Temp Folder

Download Microsoft Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center

It it doesn't work you may try:

Reset TCP/IP stack, you may open an admin command prompt and run the command netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt, then restart your computer.

And configure Windows to prefer IPv4 over IPv6: Open the Registry Editor and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters. Add a new DWORD (32-bit) Value named DisabledComponents and set its value to 20 (Hexadecimal). Restart your system.
You may also ensure that there are no limitations set for localhost connections on your machine. You can also check firewall settings and add a firewall exclusion rule for C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Desktop\bin\msmdsrv.exe.

Best regards.

Thank you for the detailed next steps!  Yes, the previous version worked, although I believe this version had been as well prior to last week.  Will try the above and follow-up here.

Just got a chance to reconnect with the end user.  Clearing out the temp folder did the trick.  Going to have him use as normal x 24-48 hours and report any recurrences of issue.  Thank you!
