Power BI app no longer displaying report pages as tabs along the bottom of the report

Pages Page setting appears broken

As of 5 Sep 2022 tabs in reports in our Power BI apps are showing on the left rather than at the bottom of the reports.  I have checked the Pages Pane setting on the report in the workspace and it is still set to 'Display report pages as tabs along the bottom of the report' however the report in the app is not obeying the setting when I publish it.

My users are used to seeing the tab along the bottom and will be confused by the sudden change in the way the report is displayed. Is anyone having the same issue?

It looks like Microsoft have updated the left hand navigation experience via an update in November 2022, which allows the left hand nav to be collapsed by default in an app:

However this still does not fix the issue raised here, as the report tabs do not appear down the bottom of a report.

Microsoft - please fix this bug as soon as you can so that my users can go back to using the published app, they are currently having to use the reports in the workspace where the reports still obey the Pages Pane setting

Any update on this?

Our users would much rather have the tabs along the bottom of the page instead of the left navigation pane.

We also found that reports that reside in another workspace are displayed within an app the preferred way where their individual pages are always across the bottom as opposed to in the left navigation pane.  So some reports fromt he one workspace show in the left navigation page, where other reports from another workspace show along the bottom, which is really confusing the users.

My users agree with @KyleE, tabs down the bottom use less realestate on the canvas and are less confusing for users.  We have resorted to not using Power BI apps anymore, we distribute all our reports through the workspace where you can use the report setting to show the tabs down the bottom.  It is tedious though because this setting resets every time you republish the report and this workaround only works if you have premium (I believe)
