Page navigation buttons conditional formatting

Unless I'm not understading the feature, I would come to believe that the conditional formatting for page navigation buttons are not functional as present. If you try to format the style of the buttons using conditional formatting, it prompts the usual CF option of gradient, rules or field value. But since you cannot reference a page name, the options are not functional.

What I meant is that you cannot use the conditional formatting feature related to some other values.

Here is a table of values

When I try to use the conditional formatting feature based on the colour field, this what happens:

If I try with a measure:

So unless I'm using the feature incorrectly, it doesn't work... probably beacuse there is no context for the page name, and there is no way to access it to associate values to. So the conditional formatting cannot be applied to page navigation buttons. Correct?

Hi @PaulDBrown ,

From my test, I can find that the color can be filled into the page button, and there is nothing wrong with this step, but the condition formatting cannot be applied.
So it seems that your conclusion is fine.
If you strongly want to implement this feature, you can suggest your idea here Ideas (powerbi.com)It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.

I appreciate you checking in on this. However, regardless of whether this is an idea to be considered for implementation, the fact that there is the fx button for conditional formatting (for various elements under Style) is a bug: it shouldn't be there if it doesn't work, because it causes users frustration and time is wasted trying to get it to work (when it doesn't).

Thanks again.

Best regards,

Paul.

Hi, is there any solution to this yet? I am facing the same problem and it's been known for over a year.
