PWBI Desktop login

Hi,

We have a problem when users open a .pbix, in the PWBI Desktop May 2020 version (version: 2.81.5831.821 64-bit (May 2020)). This .pbix was updated in a PWBI Desktop April 2020 version.

A pop-up login is continuously opening and whenever we close the pop-up, it always opens another.

We were unable to browse the report or apply filters, any action opens the pop-up login.

 

Can you help us?

This seems to be related to the usage of custom visuals (even those from Microsoft). It only happens if the PBIX has some custom visual: then it keeps asking to connect to the PowerBI service.

The issue was fixed for us by opening PowerBI desktop, and then navigating through the File menu to open the report. The user could still view custom visuals. 

 

This inconsistency should be fixed. This is a very problematic error for teams working with differing licenses.
