Metrics Scorecard Connected Data Links Not Working for Guest User

Hello: 

 

Recently encountered a issue with metrics scorecards. For context we are a Premium (P1) capacity organization.

 

When testing metrics scorecards we have found that the "Open the report this value is connected to" and "Current Value Source" links/bookmarks that get created when connecting data are generateing the following message (see below) for our guest users when they try and link to the report. When they hit close the report eventually loads. The guest users are viewers to the workspace and can access the scorecard fine and the reports indepentantly and view the details but they are just getting errors on the links in the scorecard to the reports and based on what I have read here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/service-goals-create that states "When you share scorecards, whether inside or outside your organization, your recipients need Power BI Pro licenses, unless the content is in a Power BI Premium capacity." which our content is in a P1 capacity.

Another piece of information that I think might highlight the bug is - it looks like the link in the metrics scorecard doesn't pass the CTID (tenant id) in the string. We need the CTID to be shared view link like it is with other shared items.

Hi @chimpro2007 ,

 

For external users, even if the content is hosted in PPCworkspace, he still needs to have a Pro/PPU/PPU Trial license.

Thanks for the quick response.

 

Just to clarify we are currently distrbuting all our content through our Premium Capacity Workspace to our guest user through b2b with no issues. Guest user can access the space and the reports not problem.

 

In fact our guest user can open and view the metrics scorecards and interact with them with the exception of when they are in the scorecard and select chimpro2007_0-1678368695210.pngor chimpro2007_1-1678368723513.png the link that opens doesnt contatin the tentatId value. 

 

Why this is confusing is that when you are building a metric score card and setup your current value with the "connect to data" it generates a shared view link chimpro2007_2-1678368862856.png and this link contains the CTID of the report. So you would think that when you select the buttons above it would open that shared view link and it does but it excludes the CTID. 

 

Appologies if I didn't understand your response but our ability to share with B2B guest users isn't really an issue as much as the fact that one small function within the scorecards doesn't seem to function action correctly.
